Wallet and Funds

Nyquest uses a wallet model: you fund a balance, then platform-hosted chat / agent runs / image generation deduct from it. BYOK chat is free — it doesn't touch the wallet.

How the wallet works

  1. You sign up. Wallet starts at $0.00.
  2. When you fund the wallet (Stripe Checkout), money lands as a balance.
  3. Eligible managed chat settles its gross charge and any compression credit. Media is billed at provider cost; Agent Mode can make several paid planner calls.
  4. A zero balance prevents new funded requests. Available free chat routes may still work; free capacity is limited.
  5. BYOK requests continue to work regardless of wallet balance.

Chat and most media usage settle after provider work completes. Video and Agent Mode planner calls use upfront holds. The wallet is not a universal hard spending cap: concurrent or in-flight work can settle after the displayed balance changes. Check Usage and pending jobs before retrying or starting more work near a zero balance.

Where to see your balance

Your current balance is the pill in the top bar. Click it to open the Add Funds modal. On phones, open the nav drawer and tap + Add funds.

For spend history, go to More → Usage.

The balance shows current funds; Usage shows recorded spending; the Savings page shows compression credits by model and request. Account billing history and GET /billing/ledger expose credits and debits. Video and Agent Mode holds and releases can also change the balance. A pending settlement may appear after the response completes.

A low-balance warning appears when the balance drops below $1.00.

How to fund the wallet

  1. Click the balance pill in the top bar (phones: nav drawer → + Add funds)
  2. Pick an amount in the Add Funds modal: $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 are the presets, or type any amount from $5 to $500 into the Other field
  3. Continue to Stripe Checkout, which opens in a new tab
  4. Enter your card details (Stripe handles this — Nyquest never sees the card number)
  5. Complete checkout
  6. Funds appear in your wallet within seconds (Stripe webhook → Nyquest backend)

You pick the amount in the app, not at Stripe. The Stripe Checkout page shows a fixed total and has no custom-amount box — if the amount is wrong, go back and pick again.

What your card is charged

Your wallet is credited exactly the amount you picked. Your card is charged that amount plus Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + $0.30), so the line on your statement is larger than the credit in your wallet:

You pickWallet creditedCard charged
$5$5.00$5.46
$10$10.00$10.61
$25$25.00$26.06
$50$50.00$51.81
$100$100.00$103.30

That difference is the payment processor's fee, not an extra Nyquest charge.

How is_pro works

After your first successful funding (any amount; the minimum top-up is $5), your account is marked as Pro:

  • Pro chat rate limit: 120 requests/min (vs 20/min for free-tier)
  • Pro support: live operator chat is reachable from /help/live-support
  • Higher artifact storage limits: 100MB media files (vs 10MB for free-tier)

You stay Pro forever after that first funding, even if your wallet balance returns to $0. There's no monthly fee. Pro is one-and-done.

Auto-refill

Currently: not supported. The wallet doesn't auto-refill when it runs low; you have to manually fund it.

Auto-refill is not currently available. Watch your available balance and pending work, and fund manually when needed.
