The Dock

The dock is the floating bar at the bottom-center of the screen. It's the same set of entries in the same order in every chassis — only the visual styling changes.

The per-chassis vertical icon rail down the left side was retired on 2026-07-20. Everything it held now lives in the dock, in the More menu, or in the top bar.

What each dock entry does

EntryWhat it opens
💬 ChatThe active conversation (default view)
🎬 StudiosThe four media studios — Image, Audio, Music and Video
SplicerThe Splicer workspace. Pro and up; on the free tier it asks you to upgrade
🤖 AgentsAgent Mode — give a multi-step goal and let the platform work toward it with tools
📦 VaultYour artifact vault: code, docs, archives, etc.
MoreEverything else — see below

The exact icons vary slightly by chassis (Matrix shows ASCII glyphs, Garden shows leaf icons, etc.) but the order and meaning are identical.

What's in More

  • Usage — what you've spent and how it breaks down
  • API Keys — create and revoke your personal API keys
  • Providers — add and manage your own provider keys (BYOK), and pick which one is active
  • Settings — account, theme, preferences, the "What Nyquest remembers" panel, privacy and data export
  • Admin — (admin-only) platform-wide overview and controls

Top bar

The top bar of every chassis has:

  • Chassis name + breadcrumb — where you are
  • Model picker — current model + cost; click to swap
  • Palette button — the chassis picker. This is where you switch chassis; it is not in Settings.
  • 📜 History — opens your conversation history and Projects as an overlay on top of whatever you're doing
  • Balance pill — your wallet balance; click it to open the Add Funds modal
  • ? Help button — opens this help section. Equivalent to typing /help in chat.
  • 🚪 Sign out — end your session

Phones

Phones — 768px and narrower, or any device detected as a phone — get a dedicated layout. Instead of the dock you get a bottom tab bar, and the hamburger (☰) in the top bar opens a nav drawer. The chassis picker sits at the bottom of that drawer, along with + Add funds. Tap outside the drawer to dismiss it.

Power user shortcuts

  • /help — open the help section from any chat input
  • /help <category> — jump straight to a category, e.g. /help projects
  • /help <category>/<slug> — direct link to an article
  • Cmd/Ctrl+K — global command palette (search anywhere)

What the dock is NOT

The dock is intentionally small — it doesn't show conversation lists or project lists, just feature entry points. Once you click an entry, you get the full feature panel with its own list/detail views. Conversation history and Projects aren't in the dock at all: they open as an overlay from the History button in the top bar.
