Picking a Chassis

Nyquest has 12 distinct UI styles we call chassis. Each chassis renders the same underlying chat platform with a different visual aesthetic, layout, and terminology. You can switch any time without losing data.

Why 12 different chassis?

Different work modes call for different interfaces. A doctor reviewing patient notes wants something different from a developer reviewing code, which is different from an artist exploring ideas. Rather than picking a single visual identity, Nyquest lets you swap the entire UI to match the task.

The 12 chassis at a glance

ChassisAestheticBest for

RidgelineLight clinical, hairline borders, medical tealClinicians, patient notes, clinical work
MatrixGreen-on-black terminalDevs, hackers, code-heavy work

ApsisSci-fi, glassmorphism, animatedVisual thinkers, creative work

PrismRainbow spectrum on violet-black, quiet everywhere elseDark, low-distraction work; the newest chassis
GardenBotanical, organic, calmPersonal journaling, reflection

All 12 share the same features (chat, agent mode, projects, memory, artifacts, settings). What changes is the visual presentation, terminology (a "conversation" might be called a "transcript" in Courtroom, a "session" in Studio, a "trail" in Atlas), and panel layout.

How to switch

The chassis picker is the palette button in the top bar (on phones, at the bottom of the nav drawer). It opens a Choose your chassis window listing all 12, grouped by category (Everyday, Healthcare, Finance, Game Dev, and so on). Pick one and the interface switches instantly, with no page reload. Your data, conversations, projects, artifacts, and memories are unchanged.

You can also switch via:

  • Keyboard: Cmd/Ctrl+K → search "chassis" → pick one
  • localStorage: advanced users can swap localStorage.nq_chassis directly

Try a few before committing

The first time you sign up, you're put in Nyquest. Most people stay there. But if you find yourself wishing the UI was different — flip through Matrix, Paper, and Apsis to feel the range, then settle on whichever you find most pleasant.

You can switch as often as you want. There's no penalty.

Chassis-specific guides

Every chassis has its own welcome intro:

Each one tells you what's in the top bar, what each panel does, and what the chassis-specific terminology means.
