Welcome to Paper

Paper is the document-first chassis — serif fonts, generous margins, a vibe somewhere between a research notebook and a clean Word document. Built for people who write more than they chat.

What's where

  • Top bar: the document title (the conversation's auto-generated name), the palette button (chassis picker), model picker, History, sign-out. Minimal chrome.
  • Main panel: the active note. Each turn (user + assistant) is rendered as a flowing document section, not separate bubbles. Headings, italics, blockquotes all render with proper typography.
  • Composer at bottom: wide input area with markdown-aware editing.
  • Bottom dock: floats at bottom-center — Chat, Studios, Splicer, Agents, Vault, and More. Usage, API keys, providers and settings live under More. On a phone the dock is a tab bar across the bottom.
  • History: the History button in the top bar slides your notes in over the main panel, with folios listed above them. + New note starts a new one.

What it's good for

Paper is the right pick when the model's reply is the deliverable — a draft document, a memo, an essay outline, a research summary. The document-first layout means the conversation reads like a paper, not a chat. Copy-paste into your real document is clean (no chat-style decorations get pulled along). It also pairs well with Projects (sorry, Folios) where the system prompt sets a writing style.
